Well, well, just been listening to some of their songs recently and after seeing them live this summer I think they are worth a little topic in here!
I'm not so much into them, meaning that I know very little about their musical career, but does anyone know a bit more? Do you like them? How do you feel about their stuff?

Apulanta...a band following more "alternative" music lines... So long as the majority of visitors of the site I'm from are sunk into punk culture, and in spite of it I've tried on our board to present some finnish bands of other rock realms and given to someones albums to listening, Apulanta was one of few crews been really liked (it's worth to notice here the band sings in finnish). ...I've seen them only one time on Ruisrock03 and thought then it's an interesting band with energy live atmosphere: I remember their numerous finnish audience was reacting quite wild on every song...

Yes I agree with you that they are an interesting band. Even if they sing in finnish...that's not a problem. And yes, they are very big or at least well known among the finnish audience. I remember their gigs this summer with all the vampirical b-movie-like show...ruisrock was crowded and tammerfest 2 gigs were packed as well. But they really have it funny those guys!

I just got their brand new 4-traxx EP and what can I say! You know so well I am not much in that kinda stuff but... I'm impressed! Maybe the best Finnish band singin' in Finnish right now after the split of Tehosekoitin. From those three traxx the first two of them "Vasten Mun Kasvojani" and "Aamen" are killer, same goes for the last one "Jäätyneiden Kaupunki" which reminds me a little bit of Tehosekoitin stuff with echoes of Disco (I mean the Finnish band). The fastest song "Yli Toisensa Jälkeen" is the weakest in my opinion but still OK. I will have to check their entire discography as I (have to be sincere) don't know much about it...

Shame shame...Apulanta's new album won't be ready this fall...they have decided to put it out in Spring next year! Seems like we'll have to wait. But Toni Wirtanen said clearly that THE BAND IS NOT BREAKING UP AND NO MEMBER IS GOING TO BE REPLACED! So, no worries about it, just patience!

...NO MEMBER IS GOING TO BE REPLACED! ...obviously this quote was posted a long, long time ago... Anyway...do you know if there's any english-speaking fanboard? People at Levy-yhtiö's forum feel rather 'annoyed' everytime someone's leaving a post in another language than finnish.

Yeah, it was quite long ago... but you're right, they are a bit rude at Levy-Yhtiö's forum...never like anything which is not finnish...

It can be found on their DVD, it's actually worth to watch this one completely, even though I don't understand anything they say. They even put some old material on it like a selfmade documentary about their trip to San Francisco from 1996...so funny... I think they're some rumours on LY's forum about a new DVD ... I just hope I translated this part correctly Would be nice if it was true
