In the spring of 2004, Eppu Uutinen was about to start his solo career when he met his old friend, drummer Janne Parviainen, whom he told he was looking for some help in composing music and writing lyrics. The thoughts of going solo were soon forgotten when he was introduced to Joel Paranova, a talented composer and musician with whom things clicked immediately. From then on, they were talking about a group; the missing pieces came together when they got Pexi Corner on guitar, Janne Parviainen on drums, Joel Paranova on bass and Eppu Uutinen on lead vocals. VALVET was born.
Eppu and Joel then approached Johnny Lee Michaels, one of the most acclaimed producers in Scandinavia, who has worked with several well-known Finnish artists. He had just finished his work with The 69 Eyes and their latest album, "Devils", which went straight to Number One on the sales charts in Finland - the group has since been successfully touring all over the world.
As soon as Johnny Lee Michaels got together with Valvet, it was obvious they had mutual musical interests, which led the group recording two songs at Helsinki Underground Studios. A few months later Valvet's "The Sinner" went straight to the heavy rotation playlist on Radio City, major national rock station in Finland, in which it stayed for the summer of 2005.
The guys are currently working on new material, rehearsing for their up-coming gigs and getting ready for what future holds for them.
Valvet will also be well represented in MIDEM 2006, the world's biggest annual event for professionals in music business (January 22-26, 2006 in Cannes, France).
