It all came to start in October 2001. Marco was looking for members to a rock project. He called up Ricki [ex-Spitlegion], Nicke S [ex-Deepdown] and Jk Knox [ex- Kingpin, Cozmic Zoo]. They hooked up and jammed with some of Marco´s song ideas. It went ok but Marco wanted more...
... Later the same month, Marco and Ricki teamed up with, Lagerin [ex-Spitlegion] and Bevis [ex- Masheenary] to form Sludgebucket [later The Enemies and now Enemies Swe]. The first rehearsal took place and a new band was now born! Stefan Strömbom [ex-Under siege] joined the band as rhythm-guitarist. Not long after 1st rehearsal The Enemies opened up for Hardcore Superstar at Valhall Skövde.
After some festivals and gigs The Enemies recorded their first
promo demo "Hunting Friends". At this point the band started to work with Plugged Management in Stockholm.
Immediately after these gigs and the management signing, the band started to take things seriously and dedicating more time for songwriting. After a couple showcases in Stockholm in Jan 2002 The Enemies recorded their 2nd promo demo including Shotgun Messiah [Swedish glamband] cover "Sex Drugs Rock 'n' Roll" written by T.Skold/H.Cody. [Tim Skold is nowadays more known for his work with Marilyn Manson].
In March 2002 the band and Stefan Strömbom [Guitar] decided to go separate ways and Stefan was shortly after replaced by Simon Karlsson [ex-Fuqi]. After the new vitamin injection by Simon´ s entry, The Enemies recorded their 3rd promo demo "Rock 'n' Roll Sopranos".
Enemies Swe has performed at festivals like MudMusic, Kalas, 2000 Decibel, Scandinavian Music, Hjours, Back In The Backyard and at clubs like Wire Anchor, Nirvana, Belsepub etc. They have played with many of Sweden´s most respectable hardrock bands like Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, Entombed, Mustasch and Hardcore Superstar.
To describe the band is easy: Fast, hard and melodic with an
in-your-face attitude. You can hear Guns n' Roses, Faster girl thingycat, Backyard Babies and Kiss as major influencies.
Enemies Swe line-up:
Marco Siila: Drums
Andreas Lagerin: Guitars
Simon Karlsson: Guitars
Daniel "Bevis" Bivesjö: Bass
Rickard Andersson: Vocals
