Easy Action was the first swedish glam band to make their noise heard. They was formed back in 1983 by Kee Marcello(Kjell Lövbom)and Alex Tyrone(Peo Thyrén). The first line up was Zinny Zan(Bo Stagman) on vocals, Kee and Danny Wilde(Dan Segerstedt) on guitars, Freddy Van Gerber on Drums and Peo on bass. Peo and Freddy had played together earlier in the teenpop band Noice. They went on and recorded their selftitled debut LP that was released in 83.
They had a minor hit in sweden with 'We Go Rocking', a song they had a dispute with Poison over. Easy Action claimed that Poison had stolen the chorus from 'We Go Rocking' to their 'I want Action'. If I remember right the thing was settled in court and was won by Poison.
After the release Danny was replaced by Chris Lynn(Christoffer Lind). The album was re-released in 1984 with a different cover with Chris instead of Danny, the song 'Turn Me On' was also replaced by 'Rock On Rockers'. Easy Action also played the role of a rockband in the horror movie 'Blood Tracks', they also wrote two songs for the movie.
Later Zinny left and the classic line up of Easy Action was a memory. Zinny formed Dream Police and later joined Kingpin. Zinny was replaced by Tommy Nilsson and Peo left to form Sha-Boom, a glam pop band produced by the Sweet guitarist, Andy Scott they had many hits in sweden around 88-89. Nalle Påhlsson from th AC/DC coverband AB/CD replaced Peo.
The new line up recorded the album 'That Makes One'. After that they broke up, Kee replaced John Norum in Europe, Freddy went to form Bam Bam Boys and Rat Bat Blue, Kee and Freddy also formed another band called Red Fun in 1993. Tommy Nilsson now sings boring ballads and have radio-hits once in a while.
The debut LP from Easy Action is a classic, If you like Hanoi Rocks you will love this album. Full of catchy songs in the same vein as Hanoi Rocks. Favorites are 'Rocket Ride', 'Another Saturday Night' and 'We Go Rocking'. This should be rereleased on CD.
I have never heard 'That Makes One', I don't have any expectations on it at all since Tommy Nilsson is singing on it.
