The story of Parasite City began in spring 2001. During that time two phenomenal guitar players and musicians, Rizzie and Mud (later changed his name to Angel Roxx) spent a lot of their time in numerous pubs and night clubs in a small anonymous town in southern Finland talking a huge amount of crap about being rock stars one day. Then one night they were hanging around Mud's place and watching a video tape of Guns'n'roses performing in Paris. Suddenly Rizzie said that only thing he ever really wanted to do is play the guitar and make good songs. On that very same evening these two guys decided to form a rock 'n' roll band the world had not heard or seen before instead of just talking about it.
They started determinately to do work to gain their goal. Rizzie made a couple catchy tunes (including Sweet Lady) and Mud wrote lyrics to songs like Johannesburg and Rock 'n' roll. Later on these three songs were recorded to their first demo-cd.
Mud asked his good friend Funky, with whom he had played before in various bands, to play bass in the band. Funky came to see Rizzie and Mud and they jammed for a few hours and the deal was done. Parasite City now had a bass player who could handdle different styles from jazz to trash.
In the summer 2001 boys played with different line-ups trying to find the right guys to the band. Rizzie did lead vocals until one day this "weird Englishman" answered to their advertisment on the internet. Sebastian joined the group and took care of the singing part like a real pro.
The rest of the year and the beginning of 2002 Parasites were looking for a decent drummer and finally in March they asked Michael Newman (again an old friend of Funky and Mud) to play drums on demo tape they were plannig to record. After couple weeks of hard training the band went to studio and made their first demo-cd entitled Sweet Lady. When the studio sessions were over Michael said to the other guys that he had liked the songs so much that he was going to be the new drummer of Parasite City.
To be continued...
