Finnish band Bullett reached its current formation in 2003 when five Helsinki - based rockmusicians got together on a mission (what a dramatic word) to bring back ass-kicking, riff-laden but still somewhat melodic style of HardRock back to the spotlight. And to the sunlight, out of the cellar.
The Bullett-saga got started earlier when guitarists Rizzto and Bona had became growingly frustrated at the bit lame music scene of the day. They had been jamming and writing songs occasionally and after a while they decided to search for like-minded musicians to form a hard rock band which would honour some influences from the Golden Great Metal Decade (tm) of the eighties while still remaining original without copying anybody. Or at least not admitting it! Name of the band was stolen influenced by 60´s Steve McQueen movie 'Bullitt' and The Misfits song 'Bullet'. Weird thingytail - but it stuck and now its harder to get rid off!
They placed an "musician wanted" ad on a local music magazine and got several answers. None of them were very interesting until they got a call from a powerful-voiced singer called Juce, who shared a similar vision of what a perfect rock band should be. The three got along wonderfully and they noticed that they could write good songs together very naturally. Songs filled with catchy riffs and vocal hooks poured out and they soon realized they had a full set of songs ready. Now it was time to fill in the last open positions in the band and get ready to rehearse like freakin´ lunatics. The plan was simple: get a group of good players together, have fun, hang out, write more cool tunes and perform them with passion, warfare and d**n lust for life. And of course dominate the whole world and bring back loud rock´n´roll from the sorry state it had been for a while. Yes, yes, YES.
In the ancient times Juce had played in a same band with this long-haired wild rocker called Tim-O and Juce had just heard through the grapevine (while maybe sipping some grapewine) that he might be available. The guys decided to check him out and on their first jam session it was perfectly clear that Tim-O was the right man for the job. And he certainly was. The last missing piece of the puzzle was found when a bassist with a two-letter name and one-track mind known as V*M (from the band Ferdys Skerdys) joined the group. Bullett was now ready to kill.
Bullett´s debut promo demo CD 'Chinese Democrazy' was released in January 2004 and it received immediately exploding & sensational feedback and a Grammy nomination for "best band that nobody haven´t heard". And it won Ylex´s (finnish national radiochannel) demo of the week - competition too. Whoa Yeah. Record deals were offered from left and right but Bullett dudes decided to wait for the Real Deal... even better than the real thing.
Lace & Whiskey. Hammer Of The Gods. Wham Bam Thank You Ma´am, here we are.
If you don´t believe all this nuts, catch Bullett live - love it loud!
To Be Continued!
